MoonPay Acquires DFlow to Add Solana Execution Layer

MoonPay has acquired DFlow, Solana’s fastest-growing trading execution platform, the company announced on May 5. The deal brings more than $50 billion in cumulative trading volume under MoonPay’s umbrella.

It expands the company beyond fiat-to-cryptocurrency on-ramps into full on-chain trading infrastructure on Solana (SOL).

What the MoonPay DFlow Acquisition Covers

MoonPay is a cryptocurrency payments network that allows users to buy, sell, and transfer digital assets using traditional payment methods. DFlow operates order-routing and execution infrastructure on Solana, matching trades across decentralized liquidity venues.

The combined platform will let MoonPay users move from fiat deposits directly into on-chain trading without leaving the product.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed in the announcement. DFlow’s team will join MoonPay following the close.

The release did not specify a completion date or regulatory conditions.

The acquisition strengthens MoonPay’s position in the Solana ecosystem at a time when the network accounts for a growing share of decentralized exchange activity. Solana’s daily DEX volume has repeatedly exceeded $2 billion in 2026, making execution infrastructure on the network increasingly valuable.

Background

MoonPay built its business as an on-ramp provider, processing fiat-to-crypto purchases for users of third-party wallets and exchanges.

The company has pursued a broader payments strategy since raising $555 million in a 2022 funding round. DFlow launched on Solana as a request-for-quote execution layer, routing retail orders to professional market makers.

Its infrastructure handles order flow without requiring users to interact directly with automated market makers, a design that can reduce price impact on smaller trades. The MoonPay DFlow acquisition is the most significant expansion of MoonPay’s product scope since that 2022 round.

What Comes Next

MoonPay has not published a product roadmap for the combined offering.

The most immediate question is how tightly DFlow’s execution layer will integrate with MoonPay’s existing checkout flow. If MoonPay embeds DFlow routing into its standard purchase flow, it would give retail buyers direct access to Solana liquidity without a separate wallet step.

Deeper DEX integrations and potential expansion to other networks would follow if Solana performance holds.
